Monochromatic You're The Best Card

Today's Card was simple to make, but so cute
and featured over at the Creatalicious Challenge Blog!

I used the Retro Rocket Digital Image from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.

For that monochromatic look, I used three shades of grey from my Close to my Heart Watercolor Pencil Set.

The "You're the Best" sentiment is from the retired Petite Perks stamp set "Just For You".

For the card base, I used Black cardstock from Close to my Heart, and added a layer of Pewter cardstock.

For the layers of patterned paper, I used the mini hearts from the I Heart Us paper packet from Close to my Heart.

For the striped, honeycomb and floral patterned paper, I used the Feels Like Home paper packet.

All the layers of paper are distressed with Pewter Exclusive Ink from Close to my Heart.

For a little extra sparkle, I added Silver Glitter Gems by Close to my Heart.

Valentine's Day Card For My Husband...

Today's card was created to gear up for Valentine's Day in less than two short weeks.
While my husband and I don't do anything super fancy, we do usually exchange small gifts and go out to dinner.
Here is the card, I created for him:

As you can see, I went with a monochromatic theme compiled of various shades of pink.

I used the typewriter and the Heart Stamp from the "My Type of Note" Stamp Set
This stamp set was released at the end of last summer. It is still available to purchase!

I used it in a previous post here>.
I colored in the typewriter image with a few of my favorite pink Copic markers.

The "love you" sentiment stamped in Black ink, is from last month's Stamp of the Month stamp set "Card Captions".

I know many of you picked it up for just $5. Awesome deal or what?

For the card base, I used Raspberry cardstock
I also added a few layers of Ballerina and Pixie cardstock to the mix.

I used several pieces of patterned paper from the
I Heart Us Paper Packet (pink dots) and Something Fierce Paper Packet (pink pin stripes).

These are some of our newest collections that came out January 1st.

I added some Silver Glitter Gems for a bit of sparkle and dimension.

I added some Smoothie ink, to distress the edges of all of the layers.

On the inside of the card, I have a simple White Panel that has also been distressed,
to write my message on.

Monochromatic Card Using Patterned Paper for the Background of the Stamp

Happy Sunday!

Today's card features several shades of black, white and grey.

The new technique that I tried was to stamp the image on patterned paper that had words in the background.
I've not tried this previously but see it used often.
I love how it turned out.

The Sea Gull on the pier posts is a digital image from
the Smooth Seas Stamp Set from Beccy's Place.
I chose this image because I love the beach, complete with the sea gulls and their wings and feathers.

All cardstock is from Close to my Heart. I used Black, White Daisy and Pewter.
I distressed the White Daisy cardstock in the background with Pewter ink, to create my own patterned paper.

The stamped sentiment "Enjoy the small Stuff" is from the August Stamp of the Month set
"For the Love of Crafting".

It was stamped in Charcoal ink and mounted on 3-d foam dots

The grosgrain light grey ribbon used as an embellishment is also from Close to my Heart.

I entered the card in a few challenges:

Convention Swaps Batch Two

As promised, here are a few photos of batch #2 of my Convention Swaps.
Some of the batches I will post, others I will leave for an element of surprise at the Convention.
I try to make each batch somewhat different, by changing the style, layout, technique etc.

I made 13 cards to swap at convention.
These 13 cards were made into two different sets.
For both sets, I tried to create a semi monochromatic look.

In this first set, the flowers came from the stamp set Beautiful Friendship-Scrapbooking
by Close to my Heart, I used them to make a One Sheet Wonder piece, for a few of the cards.
For the One Sheet Wonder patterned paper I made, I used Juniper and Lagoon ink.

I used Juniper, Lagoon, Peacock, and White Daisy cardstock for most of the floral cards as well.
The cards are all based with the White Cards and EnvelopesValue Pack.
Most of the cards, have panels that are distressed with Pewter ink.

The "Perspective is Everything" and "the World is Yours to Explore" sentiments both came from the "A New Adventure" stamp set.

This set is so versatile and definitely one of my personal favorites.
For most of the sentiments I mounted them with 3-D Foam Tape.

For the second group of cards, I used Kraft, Pewter, and Sapphire for the A Big Thank You Thin Cuts overlay.

Underneath is a layer of White Daisy that has been distressed with GlacierLagoon, and Sapphire ink. Love this color combo.

The cards are all based with the White Cards and EnvelopesValue Pack.

To attach the overlays I used the Bonding Memories Dual Action Glue Pen.

I used the Bitty Sparkles to embellish all of the cards.

Hope you enjoyed these, as much as I did making them.
As always if you have any questions at all please let me know.
