New Disney Layout

I am slowly catching up on my Disney Albums, one layout at a time.
Here is my most recent layout, featuring photos of my daughter Irelyn.

Often times when my husband has the older kids with him on a ride, I am able to take candid shots of Irelyn and my son while we are waiting for them.
Sometimes we get really cute pictures, sometimes someone is just hot and tired.
These three photos turned out pretty well.
This particular trip was back in May, during my birthday and Mother's Day weekend, so the weather wasn't too bad.

I kept this layout relatively simple, but incorporated products from a few different companies. The Black, Lemon, and Ruby cardstock are all from Close to my Heart.

I tried a new technique with the Block Alphabet Thin Cuts from Close to my Heart.
I simply die cut the letters of Irelyn's name with the Cuttlebug, then on a separate sheet of cardstock I took, Candy Apple Exclusive Ink, one of our new colors releasing September 1st and distressed it.
Then I layered the piece with the die cut letters over the distressed piece for the effect you see in the photos.

I embellished the page with a little Red Shimmer Trim also by Close to my Heart. It's one of my favorite embellishments.
I love that it already has adhesive on it.

The second part of the challenge was to use some of your older stash.
I pulled out some of my older Creative Memories photo mats from 2007, and used the blue print, solid and the yellowish journal box on the page.

Also from Creative Memories, I used an older Disney punch for the Mickey head on the right side of the layout.

Finally, I took a white gel pen and simply placed a few white dots randomly on the page for an extra touch.

I love how simple it was to make this layout and it is slightly different with all the photos to one side, from how I usually set my pages up.

I entered my layout into the following challenges:

Congratulations Card for Your Little Slugger...

Anyone that knows me will tell you my favorite sport is baseball!
Always has been since I was barely walking well.
My father played when I was growing up, so I watched many games in person as a small child, then as a teenager I was a baseball manager for the junior varsity and varsity teams.
I loved it!
These days, I attend games when can, and watch them on tv even more.

So the moment I saw this Slugger Sam digital image, from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps
I knew I had to have it.

It is so versatile, you can color him any combination to match someones favorite team.
I mostly chose to use several shades of red, brown, and beige with my Copic markers.
I then also brushed all of the brown colored areas with the Gold Shimmer Brush
I popped him up with 3-D Foam Tape.

For the card itself, I started out with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 White Daisy Cardstock card base.
I used a layer of Ruby Cardstock and then a layer of Kraft Cardstock.

I used a layer of Ruby Printed Paper from the Enchantment Fundamental Paper Packet. The polka dots were perfect for a sibilance of baseballs.

The little horizontal band across the card, is a layer of Ruby Cardstock as well.

The Oval sentiment is a layer of White Daisy.
The sentiment "A Day to Remember" is a perfect way to celebrate your little Sluggers first game, championship, or a win!
These two stamps together would be perfect for a scrapbooking layout as well!
The sentiment comes from the stamp set Highlight Reel,
which will be our July Stamp of the Month!

So keep in mind your will be able to purchase it in July for only $5 with any $50 purchase.

I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Finally, I added just a few little red dot embellishments from the Stargazer Dots pack.

I entered this card into the following Challenges:

Welcome New Baby Card...

So recently I have had several friends either give birth or announce that they are expecting. So I decided to go ahead and get a head start on my baby shower gift cards.
Who says they always have to be pastel colors, pink or blue...

The main focal point stamp "Bitsy Bug Rosa" is from A Day For Daisies.

A Day For Daisies (ADFD) provides themed categories of over 1000 digital illustrations, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions!

ADFD WEBSITE: www.adayfordaisies.com

I colored in the design using mostly copic markers.

I then also applied some clear shimmer to her wings and face, using the shimmer brush by Close to my Heart.
The shimmer brushes are also available in gold and bashful.

For the base of the card I used a pre-cut and pre-scored card from the White Cards and Envelopes set from Close to my Heart.

I used the "Blacked Out" technique that I love so much.
The red cardstock is Ruby from the Close to my Heart Enchanted Cardstock Pack collection. The green is Sweet Leaf from the Whimsy Cardstock Pack Collection.

The smaller sentiment "Welcome Baby" is from the "Short & Sweet Sentiments" stamp set by Close to my Heart.

I love this little set, it has so many great sentiments in one complete set, and it's an amazing value at only $6.95.

These are all of the sentiments that are included:

As a small bit of embellishment, I added two Sparkles, to the lower part of the card. Did you know that you can color them using your Shin Markers? That's right, since they are clear, you can color them any color you want.

I entered the card into a few challenges:
