Cherish This Moment Card For My Card Stash

I had a lot of fun, creating this card for the #223 Challenge over at Aud Sentiments
The challenge is anything other than a Birthday Card.

The adorable I am a Pandacorn Digital Image is from The Paper Shelter.

I colored the image in with my Watercolor Pencils from Close to my Heart!

The card base is Lilac cardstock, one of our new colors, introduced last summer.
All of the patterned paper layers are from the I Heart Us Patterned Paper Packet from Close to my Heart!

Each layer that is distressed, is distressed with Thistle Exclusive Ink
The sentiment "Cherish This Moment" is from the up coming Stamp of the Month set for April, called Love So Sweet.
The stamp set will be available for only $5 with any $50 purchase.

I entered my card into the following challenges:

Lovely Layers - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

I love creating cards that mimic a monochromatic look.
While shades of purple is not always my favorite combination, they sure are pretty all together.
I chose three shades; Pansy, Thistle and Eggplant.
I chose these colors of cardstock to highlight the "Lovely Layers" technique for this month's Blog Hop.

I used one of our newest stamp sets "Dandelion Wishes" for the adorable flower and the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment.

There are also 15 other Close to my Heart Consultants sharing there amazing artwork with you, so please be sure to make your way around the entire Blog Hop
You are going to love what you see!

If you are coming from Michelle Loncar's Blog, you are on the right track.
Should you get lost along the way, all participant's links can be found here

For this card I started out with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Eggplant cardstock card base.
I used a layer of White Daisy cardstock
Then a layer of Pansy cardstock.
Then another layer White Daisy cardstock, in which the Dandelion is stamped on.
All of the layers of cardstock were distressed with Thistle Exclusive Ink.

Then a strip of Thistle cardstock under a piece of White Daisy with the sentiment stamped in Black and Thistle Exclusive Ink

I popped the sentiment up on some of our 3-D Foam Tape

The inside of the card has a layer of White Daisy cardstock, that has been distressed with Thistle Exclusive Ink.

Finally, I added just a few Silver Glitter Gems for embellishments.

A Simple Get Well Soon Card

A dear friend of mine is in the hospital under less than ideal conditions.
I knew I wanted to make a card, but needed some inspiration.
I came across Color Challenge #326 on the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge Blog.
The Challenge was to create a black and white card, with just a splash of color.

I ended up choosing Close to my Heart’s Thistle as my splash of color.

The sentiment “Get Well Soon” is from the January 2019 Stamp of the Month stamp set

The set is only $5 with any $50 purchase from my online store.
I used the little heart symbol to create a stamped background.

I distressed the inside of the card to give the stark white some dimension.

I distressed the inside and the edges of the layers with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I also created a simple pattern on the left side of the card, by scoring three straight lines.

Thank you for stopping by!

Fall Splendor Card

Today's card was inspired by the Black, Orange and Purple Challenge over at Pile It On! Challenge Blog!

I kept the layout of the card simple, yet cute and fun.

While these three colors can certainly be used for Halloween, I went with a fall sentiment instead, for a different spin.

I used the Hello Pumpkin Paper Packet, for the Pumpkin Cut apart.

I layered it on a piece of Thistle Cardstock, then layered that on Black Cardstock, then layered that on a piece of Tangerine Cardstock.

There is a piece of Thistle Cardstock behind that.
I mounted them all on a Black Card base.

The inside of the card is a layer of Tangerine Cardstock with a half circle cut from an older Fundamentals Paper Packet.

I finished the card off with three small Silver Glitter Gems as embellishments.

Magical Mermaids Scrapbooking Layout

Last year for my Twins 4th Birthday, we took them to see the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show in Myrtle Beach, SC. While the girls have all been before, this time it was extra special, because we also let them participate in the Mermaid Makeover Experience
They each had their faces painted, adorned with glitter gems and they received a crown and a wand.
The girls all loved it.

So I present to you the layout I created for those photos.
While I did not post the photos on the layout itself, I will at a later date, once I have them printed.

For the layout I used all Close to my Heart products.
Some of which are now newly retired, but you may very well have them in your stash.
Be sure to checkout all of the new products that released yesterday on Sept 1st!

I used Thistle, Pixie, and Black cardstock.
The patterned paper came from the Make Waves Paper Packet.
I also used White Glitter Paper  for the borders on the edges.
If you have not used our Glitter Paper before, a side note is that it is very thick and durable.
It really is more like cardstock.

I used the Make Waves Scrapbooking stamp set, for the large Mermaid, and the sentiment next to her.
I also used the word "Magical" and the flowers from the same stamp set.
I colored the Mermaid and the Flowers in with Copics.
I used Lagoon ink and Thistle ink to distress those pieces and the white journal box.

The star fish stickers, flower stickers and washi tape sticker, all came from the Make Waves Complements Pack. Right now that set is on clearance while supplies last for only $2.25.

I adorned the pages with Silver Glitter Gems.
Those are one my my favorite embellishments that Close to my Heart carries.

Convention Swaps Are Underway...

I am so excited, in just a few weeks, I will be driving across the country again out west to Close to my Heart's annual convention.
This year it is in Las Vegas!
I've been to Las Vegas, once before a few years ago, to visit my husband's family.
While out there this year, I am going to try to spend some time with them again.

If you have ever been to a Scrapbooking/Stamping convention, then you know swapping your handmade cards is a big deal!
Last time, I think I swapped over 100 cards.
My goal this year is at least 50, but I am going to try to reach 100 if I can.
So since I have such a lofty goal, I knew I needed to go ahead and get started.
So this weekend, I didn't have much planned, so cards it is.
Now some folks like to make all of their cards exactly the same, kind of like an assembly line.
I personally like to make mine that way, but in small batches, then switch the colors, layout, etc.

So today I am sharing with you my first batch.

I made 6 cards to swap at convention, and a card for a dear friend that is feeling under the weather.
I used the One-Sheet-Wonder Technique, to create the floral print paper.
The flowers, and leaves came from the stamp set Beautiful Friendship-Scrapbooking by Close to my Heart.
The cards are all based with the White Cards and EnvelopesValue Pack.

I used Thistle, Smoothie, and Bashful for the two-step stamped flowers and Sweet Leaf for the leaves.
Most of the cards, have the top panel of White Daisy, distressed with Pewter ink.
The "Life is Better With Friends"sentiment came from that same set.
These were both stamped in Pewter ink.

The "Simply Beautiful" sentiment came from the "A New Adventure" stamp set.
This set is so versatile and definitely one of my personal favorites.
I used our new Thin Cuts- Stitched Ovals and our Thin Cuts- Basic Ovals for the sentiment and them mounted it with 3-D Foam Tape.
These were stamped in Pewter on White Daisy cardstock, then layered on Bashful cardstock.

I used the Grey Gems to embellish a few of the cards.

For the card I am mailing to a friend, I used a layer of Bashful under the three panels of White Daisy I created.

The "A Beautiful Friendship" sentiment came from the "Beautiful Friendship- Scrapbooking" stamp set.
Each panel was distressed with Pewter ink.

I will start working on my second batch in just a few minutes.
As I create batches over the next few weeks, I will post them here on the blog to share them with you.
As always if you have any questions at all please let me know.
