Celebrate Summer with a Fun 4th of July Scrapbook Sketch!

Summer is officially here, and that means it's time for sunshine, backyard barbecues, sparklers, fireworks, family gatherings, and making memories worth preserving!

Today I'm excited to share a brand-new double-page 12" x 12" scrapbook sketch inspired by all the fun and excitement of the 4th of July. This layout was designed to help you showcase multiple photos while keeping the overall design clean, simple, and easy to recreate with supplies you already have in your stash.

The sketch features layered paper strips, simple star embellishments, banner accents, and plenty of photo space for capturing your favorite Independence Day moments. Whether you're documenting a neighborhood parade, a family picnic, fireworks at dusk, or kids waving flags, this layout provides the perfect foundation for telling your story.

One of my favorite things about scrapbook sketches is how flexible they are. You can follow the design exactly or make it your own by changing papers, adding extra embellishments, or incorporating memorabilia like ticket stubs, event programs, or journaling cards.

Lots of Layers Challenge Card...

Today's card was inspired by the Lots of Layers card Challenge over at the Pile It On! Challenge Blog.

Since Fourth of July is right around the corner, I thought I would be a great time to use Sapphire, Poppy and White Daisy cardstock for a beautiful patriotic look.

I used the new Heartfelt Thanks stamp set for both the sentiment and the floral background.

I stamped both in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

The oval layers are raised up on 3-D Foam Tape.

I distressed the edges of the oval with Sapphire ink.

To help bring out the floral pattern, I used just a few of the blue dots in the Stargazer Dots pack. If you follow mw regularly you know I love those and am stocking up now, so I still have them once they sell out.

New Card for a Few Challenges

Hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July!

We had a chance to relax, did little grilling and then went on the base so the kids could play at the park and watch fireworks. I love that we have the freedom to do just about anything to celebrate. Overall it was a great day!My husband is retired Army, therefore patriotic holidays are usually spent with a great deal of pride of his accomplishments and sacrifices. Therefore you will notice that this is the second card this week that was red, white and blue.

This card didn't take too terribly long. I utilized Sketch Saturday #470, for the format.

Then I added a few extra embellishments to meet the guidelines for a couple of challenges.

There's a ribbon tab, and a few rhinestones for some sparkle. My favorite way to add ribbon, is to create the little tab, as you see here. I like using it this way, because it gives just a touch of ribbon without taking over the card, but also I am able to utilize scraps and small pieces of ribbon.

I even pulled the Cricut out for the oval layers, and flourishes at the bottom.
