The Impossible Card Cricut Design Space Template

So you may have seen my previous post, about using the "Impossible Card" fancy fold technique...

While I love this style, I knew there had to be an easier way...

So I spent several hours designing a Cricut Design Space File.

While it is not perfect, it will serve it's purpose.

The file is for an A2 size card.
The first file contains the base and the second contains the two side layers and the top standing layer. I am not charging for these, they are free for you to use, however I ask if you use, them to please give me credit, as the designer of the file.

Please note the file does contain a score piece and the cutting. So if you do not have a Cricut Score tool, you may wish to purchase one. If you are a Close to my Heart consultant we do have them in our Supply Section.

I can't wait to see what you use the file to create!

Just Thinking Of You "Impossible Card"

If you haven't had an opportunity to watch one of the many videos on Youtube about the new "fancy fold" card, called the Impossible Card, you are truly missing out.

There are some really nice videos out there, and if my schedule allows, I will try to post one as well. However for now, I'm simply going to share the one I made for a dear co-worker, that's at a different location, that needs some cheering up.

As most of you know, our current Seasonal Expressions catalog ends at the end of the month, so I wanted to showcase one of our adorable card kits.
Nearly everything I needed to create this card was included in the kit. Even down to the cute diagonal ombre paper... that is actually pack of the "zip strip" that comes with the paper in the kit.

My base is made out of 100lb. White Bristol Smooth Paper by Canson.
However all of the other papers and cardstock are from the kit.
I love that the kit includes several of my favorite colors; Bashful (Color of the Year), Pansy, and Peacock.

The sentiment "Hello Lovely" came from the stamp set "Something Magical" which is included in the Cardmaking Kit.
I love that each of our kits include an exclusive stamp set, that you can get only with that kit.

I stamped the sentiment in Thistle, to help bring out the Pansy purple color in the patterned paper. You can also get the coordinating "Make Waves" paper packet to go along with this Cardmaking kit.

For a final touch, I added two of the little sequins flowers from the "Make Waves Sequins & Gems" pack included in the kit.

I hope you enjoyed my card, and I would love to see what you create from your kit or your Impossible Card design in general.
Thank you for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

First Day Of School Scrapbooking Page Elements

In just a few short months (August), my twins will be starting Kindergarten.
I figured I would go ahead and get started on the scrapbooking pages for their first day.

I decided to make a few Scrapbooking Page Elements for now and later I will add a few embellishments to the pages such as the red shimmer trim and enamel dots. The Stargazer dots in red, blue and yellow will be perfect. I already have some of those in my stock, but for those of you that, don't be sure to get them before they leave at the end of the month. Our current seasonal expressions ends at the end of April and our new one begins May 1st.

My Scrapbooking Page Elements, give you a sneak peek as to what is to come...
The patterned paper included in these two elements are both from the new "Central Park" Collection. It is gorgeous and definitely a versatile set of prints.
Where are my balloon festival friends? You will want this collection for all of your festival photos and memories.

The stamp set used is one of the Stamp Of The Month sets from 2017, called "School Year".
It is a retired set, however some of you may have it in your collection.

I stamped the sentiment and the pencils in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I colored the pencil stamp in using markers, and distressed the edges of the white cardstock using Cranberry Exclusive Ink

I can't wait to see what you create with these new patterned papers!

Welcome New Baby Card...

So recently I have had several friends either give birth or announce that they are expecting. So I decided to go ahead and get a head start on my baby shower gift cards.
Who says they always have to be pastel colors, pink or blue...

The main focal point stamp "Bitsy Bug Rosa" is from A Day For Daisies.

A Day For Daisies (ADFD) provides themed categories of over 1000 digital illustrations, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions!

ADFD WEBSITE: www.adayfordaisies.com

I colored in the design using mostly copic markers.

I then also applied some clear shimmer to her wings and face, using the shimmer brush by Close to my Heart.
The shimmer brushes are also available in gold and bashful.

For the base of the card I used a pre-cut and pre-scored card from the White Cards and Envelopes set from Close to my Heart.

I used the "Blacked Out" technique that I love so much.
The red cardstock is Ruby from the Close to my Heart Enchanted Cardstock Pack collection. The green is Sweet Leaf from the Whimsy Cardstock Pack Collection.

The smaller sentiment "Welcome Baby" is from the "Short & Sweet Sentiments" stamp set by Close to my Heart.

I love this little set, it has so many great sentiments in one complete set, and it's an amazing value at only $6.95.

These are all of the sentiments that are included:

As a small bit of embellishment, I added two Sparkles, to the lower part of the card. Did you know that you can color them using your Shin Markers? That's right, since they are clear, you can color them any color you want.

I entered the card into a few challenges:
