My New Toy, Canon Selphy Printer

So after looking at it online for several months, my upline for Close to my Heart, posted a review and tutorial on her Canon Selphy Printer.
I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and purchase one as well.

So for starters, my set came with a bundle.
It had the starter ink cartridge, and then an ink cartridge along with 54 photos sheets.
I also purchased an additional 108 sheet pack with another ink cartridge. I figured if I like it I am going to use it.

So my husband helped me set everything up (I was working on card swaps), and it took him less than 5 minutes.
We connected everything to the wi-fi and it was up and running in no time.

So far I've printed about 10 photos. It's very cool to watch them print out.
It does one layer of color at a time, then adds a gloss type covering on the photo.

I've noticed as long as I don't resize them, they look pretty good.
The ones however that I tried to resize, appeared to have a lower resolution.
Not horrible, but enough for me to notice.
And honestly they could just be user error, from me changing settings or sizing.

I am happy with my purchase, and will watch a few more tutorials, to become more familiar with the settings.

Now I can work on my Disney albums even faster, without having to run back and forth to Walgreens to pick up more printed photos.

Clean and Simple (CAS) Happy Birthday Swaps ...

Happy Tuesday!

As the week grows closer to my trip to the Close to my Heart convention, I find myself trying to complete several projects that need to be accomplished prior to my leaving.
One of such as a clean and simple swap I signed up for a while back.
I had to create two groups of cards.

One set was embossed with the Close to my Heart Rose Embossing Folder

Then embellished with Red Shimmer Trim, Pewter cardstock, and a relatively simple White Daisy circle.

The circle was distressed with Cranberry ink and the sentiment "Make a Wish" from the Short & Sweet Stamp Set, was inked with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink

The second set, I use the Central Park Patterned Paper Packet as the main focal point.
I used Poppy and Sapphire cardstock as well.

The sentiments,  "Thanks a Bunch" from the Heartfelt Thanks Stamp Set, and the "Celebration" from the Cheers to You Workshops Your Way Stamp Set were stamped in Cranberry and Sapphire inks.

I added a few Stargazer Dots to each of these, depending on the colors in the card. Some were blue, some red and some yellow. These are still available, stock up!

I tried to make sure that I made a few extras to swap with at the Convention next week.
Counting down,  just 9 days!

Welcome Baby Card...

So about a week ago, I was in my local Tuesday Morning, browsing the baby aisle, and stumbled upon this adorable blanket...

I immediately thought to myself, wait, I have a hot air balloon stamp at home.
So tonight's card which will also be on my display at the Close to my Heart Convention in about a week and a half, was in fact inspired by that blanket.

Now originally I was planning to use soft pastel blues, but decided against it, and chose to use the soft aqua colors.
I may go back and create some neutral ones and even a pink or blue one.

The hot air balloon stamp is from the Cheers To You Cardmaking Workshops Your Way stamp set.

I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and filled in just a few spots with some of my
Cricut Markers.

The "Welcome Baby" sentiment is from the Short & Sweet Stamp Set
One of my favorites, because it has so many different sentiments.
And at only $6.95 it is an amazing deal.

The cardstock used is Pewter, Lagoon and White Daisy

The small strip of White Daisy was also run through the Cuttlebug (Exclusive Hostess Offer) , with our Rose Embossing Folder
This embossing folder, is truly my go to for many cards and scrapbooking layouts.

I used a little Lagoon ink to help distress the edges of the hot air balloon panel.
Then I finished off the card with a few Bitty Sparkles to add some simple shine.

I did enter this card into the following challenge:

Lots of Layers Challenge Card...

Today's card was inspired by the Lots of Layers card Challenge over at the Pile It On! Challenge Blog.

Since Fourth of July is right around the corner, I thought I would be a great time to use Sapphire, Poppy and White Daisy cardstock for a beautiful patriotic look.

I used the new Heartfelt Thanks stamp set for both the sentiment and the floral background.
I stamped both in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
The oval layers are raised up on 3-D Foam Tape
I distressed the edges of the oval with Sapphire ink

To help bring out the floral pattern, I used just a few of the blue dots in the Stargazer Dots pack. If you follow mw regularly you know I love those and am stocking up now, so I still have them once they sell out.

I entered my card into the following challenges:

Mini is Marvelous - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Anyone who knows me personally, knows I am an avid Disney fan.
The movies, the cartoons, the parks.
If it's Disney, I've probably experienced it.
So when I saw these new 4 x 4 Story by Stacy albums, I just knew I had to have the polka dot one for a mini Disney album of one of our recent trips.

I chose this little album to highlight the "Mini is Marvelous" technique for this month's Blog Hop.

I used several of our newer stamp sets from Close to my Heart to help me decorate the album to create this adorable work of art.

There are also 10 other Close to my Heart Consultants sharing there amazing artwork with you, so please be sure to make your way around the entire Blog Hop.
You are going to love what you see!

If you are coming from Wendy's Blog, you are on the right track.
Should you get lost along the way, all participant's links can be found here.

The kit includes:
1 – 4" × 4" mini album with built-in Memory Protectors™

22 – 4" × 4" cards

1 – Story Starter workbook

There is more than enough for you to create a cute album that tells the story of an important person, place, or thing that you love.

For this album, I started out with a 4 x 4 sheet of cardstock or paper for each page.
Then I added layers for most.
Some pages include distressed ink, Stargazer Dots, Gold Pearls and Red Shimmer Trim.
I tried to keep the embellishments light, so the pages wouldn't be too bulky.
Here is my Title Page, I could have used the Cricut, but tried to keep my album simple...

A few other notable pages...

In the album, I used paper from the Stagazers collection and our new Central Park collection
I love them both!

I used both Story by Stacy stamp sets along with a few others...

A few of my favorite pages...

Last Page in the album...

Thank you so much for stopping by, before heading over to Katy's Blog, please consider leaving a comment and enjoy the rest of the creative talents in this month's Blog Hop!

Convention Swaps Using The June Stamp Of The Month...

So of course, here school is already out, but many places have just a few more weeks.
So I figured a last minute Teacher Appreciation card was in order for a few of my swaps.
These were relatively quick, and simple, yet cute cards to make.

Tonight's card uses one of the sentiments from the Stamp of the Month set, "A Bushel and A Peck"

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink along with the cute little apple stamped onto White Daisy cardstock.
I used copics to color in the apple.

I mounted the sentiment onto Sapphire cardstock and then onto the 4 x 5 inch embossed panel of White Daisy cardstock.

The panel was embossed with the Rose Embossing Folder
The panel was then mounted with 3-D Foam Tape onto the White Card Base.

Hope you enjoyed my card, and I look forward to sharing more swaps with you.
So Far, I am up to about 24 completed cards, and I haven't shared all of the designs with you yet :)

Getting Started Early...

If you are like me, you have realized this year seems to be flying by fast... It is already June! EEK! So Christmas and Thanksgiving cards are definitely a priority right now.
Today's card features an adorable "Cold Hedgehog" digital image from Gerda Steiner Designs

I used it to create my first Thanksgiving card for the upcoming holiday.
I colored him with copics markers.

The majority of the layers on the card feature patterned paper from Close to my Heart
One of my favorite paper packets from last Fall's Seasonal Expressions, "Falling For You".
While it is retired, I stocked up and hopefully you did too.

The "Give Thanks" is just handwritten with a Cricut Marker on a few layered circles. The Goldrush and Fern circles are from Close to my Heart Cardstock.

I entered this cute but simple card into a few challenges:
